Helen Whelan named Chief Risk Officer at Brown Shipley

London; 7 March 2024: Brown Shipley, a Quintet Private Bank, today announced the appointment of Helen Whelan as Chief Risk Officer, subject to regulatory approval. Whelan will be responsible for further strengthening risk management practices and controls at Brown Shipley. 

Whelan – who assumes her new role today, succeeding Fiona Woodhouse – brings to Brown Shipley more than 15 years’ experience at LGT Wealth Management, where she most recently served as Head of Risk and member of the Management Board. 

London-based Whelan will serve as a member of the Brown Shipley Executive Committee, reporting to CEO Calum Brewster, and as a member of Quintet’s Group Risk Leadership team, reporting to Christine Lynch, Quintet’s Group Chief Risk Officer. 

“We’re very pleased to welcome Helen onboard. Drawing on her extensive experience and deep knowledge of risk management, she will build upon the progress we have already made in strengthening our risk culture,” said Brewster.

She is a CFA Charterholder and holds Financial Risk Management Certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
