Meet our people.
For over 200 years we have been tending to the needs of our clients and our success is built on the strength of our people. It’s not just their specialist knowledge, but their desire to do the right thing that makes our clients trust us in helping them to support their wealth needs.
A culture of caring.
Colleagues are encouraged to get involved in supporting charities and every member of the team is able to take a day’s paid leave every year for voluntary activity that supports the community or their chosen charity.

Building your career.
Diversity & inclusion.
To successfully serve the diverse needs of our clients, we need a skilled and diverse team to collaborate effectively. We are an equal opportunity employer, and all aspects of recruitment and employment are conducted with a commitment to diversity. In line with our values, we have a fair and transparent process in terms of selection and recruitment in all areas including remuneration, promotion, training and transfers.

To demonstrate our commitment to increasing female representation in our senior roles we signed up to the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter. As part of this commitment, we set a first goal to increase the number of women in senior management positions within the business to 25% by December 2020. We were delighted to hit this target and are now working to increase this percentage to 40% of women in senior management positions in the near future.
Diversity & Inclusion is a key business priority for us. In 2024, we launched our DIVE network which is aimed at fostering Diversity and Inclusion, through Values and Engagement. DIVE also focuses on fostering engagement with educational and financial topics, promoting professional and personal skill development and expanding our internal networks through diverse and inclusive initiatives. We will continue to work to ensure Brown Shipley is a positive workplace for people from all backgrounds and where colleagues have the freedom to be their true selves.
